Seymour advice
« on: Jan 12, 2014, 07:19 PM »
I plan to go to seymour for opening weekend. I am new to trout fishing, but have gotten some pretty good advice from you fine folks. So my question is, I have never been to seymour before, where is the access/accesses. from looking at navionics, and other maps I am thinking of the south end, on the 111 side of the lake south of seymour road. is there a way to get on the ice down there? has anyone been out to check the ice this year? I am hoping to drive an atv and pull out a wheeled ice shanty. Any help would be great.

A very quick search and I found this on the states F&G website.

There is only one F+W access on the north side of Rt. 111. Any other ways to get on the ice are mostly through private land. It will be a mad house there next weekend, I would plan to get there early. Lot of good fishing is off of wolfs point  ;)

gooseman I knew of the one on FW, but didn't know if like other lakes in the NEK there may be other access spots (ie eagle point on magog) was hoping that the south end had one... as for early I will be there friday noonish... get shack on choose spot with flasher, sound holes and mark my lines, drill all holes for me and several friends who will arrive saturday, set my tips next to holes to mark them and get my ground. then at 12midnight drop three lines for burbot with some smushed minnows and start jigging smelt with my light for the trout.

I'll probably be up there early opening day to get jiggy with some monsters ;)

a perpetual series of occasions for hope.
