Jiffy 30 stupid question
« on: Jan 08, 2014, 07:05 PM »
Rebuilt my carb, can't remember which needle goes where, I have the fine pointed needle in the low speed and the larger needle in the hi speed. Is this right? It cuts but has issues. Thanks, Lee.

If you put the choke lever in the NO Choke position the Low Speed Adjustment screw is right under it. Looks like the low speed adjustment screw is higher up on the carb then the High speed.  It also looks like it is closet to the outside of the carb.Hope this helps.

Both needles are at the same heigth, when looking at them low should be the left one high should be the right. It cuts but not like it should.  It runs, but the more I adjust it seeems that I am not acomplishing anything. Lee

the fine needle belongs in the low speed jet.. the "coarse" needle belongs in the main mixture jet... always adjust the main mixture first.. then set the low speed...

Make sure it's good and warmed up before you start playing with it and have it in temps close to what you'll be using it in.  Playing with the jets as it's warming up will really throw you for a loop!!
