Bait...How much or How many
« on: Dec 08, 2005, 05:47 PM »
Is there such thing as to much or to little when it comes to baiting a hook?

Reading all these ice articles in IF magazine and looking at the photo's of their bait presentation, I think I have been short changing myself. I usually only tip my jigs with one peice of bait..Im watching these guys put 4 or 5 spikes on a single jig or hook...What are your thoughts? will over baiting a hook hinder it's presentation or will under baiting turn the fish off?

I only tip my jigs with 1 spike/waxy/mousy.( for panfish) I think 1 works fine. Plus sometimes they will strip you, And I would rather loose 1 Than 4-5 at a time. just my opinion.

For panfish I only use 1 also. I think that for trout a few more would be good but i wouldnt be using 4-5.
