Took the flip-n-fish out this AM. Goal was to go out as light as possible. So I thought I'd leave the ION @ home and bring the 4.5" Nils. Was planning to just jig for crappies. Wasn't to effective with euro larvae so I switched over to my salt cured minnow ( new p.b. last week 14.5" crappie ).
Set hook. Fight was on. After 10 min. I knew she wasn;t gonna come up the hole. Yelled to the guy 50 yrds away. He came with his auger and we had to drill another hole. Pulled up and saw a bunch of weeds and just a little bit of lip. Line broke, but I quickly threw my hand in threw everything on the ice. And there she was. Just awesome! Her head and stomach were just pure fat. Never seen anything like it. Gave her a kiss and sent her on her way.
"Did you get your lure out of her...?" -dhoaa.....
I did notice right away that her eyes were hazy and dlazed over like a walleyes?
Not sure if this is a sign of age or I just never noticed that before on largemouths
These other 2 pics of bass. were just bonus fish
*anyone have an idea what this leviathan might have weighed?
