I have never been to this area, both were recommended, which lake would you start at? Im just trying to catch whatever wants to bite so the kid can reel in some fish

The moose lake that connects to Deer lake I guess under a highway? I was told you could go from one to the other via a channel or creek

Moose is dead.... Did well over thanksgiving weekend, but nothing since. And the slush is terrible out there....
