Need help with runing lp lines?
« on: Dec 10, 2013, 08:07 PM »
any idea on what materials to use for running lp lines. i have an old pop up camper frame that i turned into an ice shed. it has a dual set up on it know but lines only run down to the frame and stop. looks like the lines were removed. any ideas on what to use? need to run lines for 3 appliances and i want a capped off end for anything else. can i use plumbing tees to make a manifold or what. any help is appreciated.
Thanks

I use 1/4 black pipe. Or galvanized. Mernards or any farm store has every thing you need. Most heaters that run off lap have 1/4 npt  thread. Also you can get the hose with 1/4 thread in different lengths at the same places. Or go to a welding store and they can make you up hoses of any length. And make sure to get thread tape or dope. And put it on all threads.

I would use copper lines.  Most likely 3/8 soft copper with brass fittings.  Galvanized will rust, especially with propane as it is a wet fuel.  I would do a little research and you will find companies selling supplies for this type of application.  Propane lighting may also be an option you will want to look into.  Good Luck.
