« on: Dec 05, 2013, 07:21 PM »
Alot of you guys may already know this but i will share anyway
if you or anyone you know have had fios then you or the person
You know have a white or grey box that has a batt in it that is the same
Battery as a vex!! There is either a 9 amp or 7.5
If you no longer have that service anymore you have a free back up battery!!

What is fios??/ need to explain. I know if you have the 9 it will last longer. Originally my unit came with a 7.5 generic. but since then I have bought 2- 9amp vexilar batteries. 1 for camera one for vex and the 7.5 for back-up.

I believe those batteries or similar can be found in emergency lights for a building.

Unless they are different than mine, emergency lighting uses 6v 7ah batteries. Just replaced a bunch of them.

The 9ah I bought was also for emergency exit signs/lighting etc.
They also sell some at the farm store that are 7 ah for game cameras that are the same size. I however ended up buying a new 9ah for $25 shipped off of fleaBay. Now I just alternate bewteen the 2 and always have a charged spare. The 9ah do make a noticeable difference as far as how long they hold their charge.
