The tv version would be fine, but the original might be a little risque' at times. Not really that bad, but Burgess Merideth has some rather funny/suggestive 1-liners ;D. Glad to see parents who use somediscretion in this day and age ;)

Just out of curiosity - is Grumpy old men ok for kids??? profanity???  I think my 11 YO would LOVE IT!  But I am kinda tough on what they watch...

Thanks,

Grumpy Old Men (1993)
For decades, next-door neighbors and former friends John and Max (Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau) have feuded, trading insults and wicked pranks. When an attractive widow (Ann-Margret) moves in nearby, their bad blood erupts into a high-stakes rivalry full of naughty jokes and adolescent hijinks. Will this love triangle destroy the two old grumps? Or will the geriatric odd couple overcome their differences and rediscover their friendship?
Starring: Jack Lemmon, Walter Matthau
Director: Donald Petrie
MPAA Rating:
PG-13 For some sexual references

Grumpier Old Men (1995)
In this sequel to the hilarious Grumpy Old Men, a family wedding reignites the ancient feud between next-door neighbors and fishing buddies John and Max (Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau). Meanwhile, a sultry Italian divorcée (Sophia Loren) opens a restaurant at the local bait shop, alarming the locals who worry she'll scare the fish away. But she's less interested in seafood than she is in cooking up a hot time with Max.
Starring: Jack Lemmon, Walter Matthau
Director: Howard Deutch
MPAA Rating:
PG-13 For salty language and innuendos

That is funny this came up.....I popped that DVD in 2 nights ago.  It kills me every time she dumps that big walleye back in the lake before he can get a picture of it.....and trying to stab each other with a fozen walleye is priceless!

I have both DVD's and watch them all the time!  Nothing gets me in the mood for icefishing more than watching the first one!  I love it when Mathou (sp?) screams when the big walleye gets released!  Absolutely awesome shows!!!

Anybody fish with a green hornet?  I was thinking about making one for pounding some gills. I have tried to find the size of the green hornet on the net, but amazingly goggle only had a few hits for such a great device.

This is a CLASSIC! I to watch every year when ice fishing is just ariund the corner. My ice fishing freinds and I repeat lines from that movie all thru the hard water season. *The green hornet strikes again*   A local bait shop was going to start selling replica's of the hornet last year but i don't know if the old man got around to building them . *Mount the woman son* *Putz* * Moron*   The one liners are never ending!

This summer while my family and I were on vacation we stopped at the Mall of America. While my wife was shopping my boys and I went through that underwater aquarium. There is a section that looks like it has ice on top of the water with a fishing hole in it. At the bottom of the lake (aquarium) there lies a GREEN HORNET that has fallen through the hole. I thought that it was funny because I have both of the movies. I never knew that there was such a thing as a Green Hornet. ??? ;D ??? bear

I love both movies, they are classics, great outdoor show. I have both on VCR tapes. :)
One of my top comedy's ,Walter and Jack made a great duo. Too bad Walter passed away. :(
I also wonder where you could find or plans to make " The Green Hornet". I will have to check it out.
For you folks from Minnesota, is there really a town and lake called Wabashaw and a Wabashaw county? If so have you ever fished the lake they filmed on? ???
