Are you talking about ice shack rentals or a place to stay ? As far as ice shack rentals I think a motel had a add on craigslist last winter. Can't remember which one. I think your best bet is look up lakegenevatackle.com and give them a call. I know they rent shanties on nearby Delavan lake and I think on Geneva also.

Stuff is not very cheap around there since its a resort/tourist town. You should do a google search or use www.vrbo.com and www.homeaway.com to see if what your looking for is out there for a price you want to pay. If you want send me a PM and maybe I can find out what you want in more detail. Like if it has to be in Lake Geneva or just near Geneva Lake and what you want to fish for.

Yes Geneva has Lakers. Also Walleye, Northern Pike, Musky have been stocked a few years ago. Large and Smallmouth bass, perch, gills, crappies, Rock bass and others. It's a little over 5,000 acres and around 130ft at it's deepest. It's a clear lake and good fishing. As far as ice fishing it's one of the last to freeze in most of the state. Some years the whole lake dosen't even freeze, but usually it will. I really like fishing this lake, it has some really nice fish if you can find them.

jchunter, hello.  I see you are from Elkhorn so my assumption is that you hit Geneva often once safe ice is available.  I live in Somers (Kenosha County) and loved fishing for gills and crappies through the ice at Geneva (Geneva Bay and Trinkies/flats).  In all honesty, I have avoided Geneva over the last couple of seasons and opted for Delavan instead.  What I was experiencing was that panfish were becoming scarce in Geneva Bay compared to 5-10 years ago.  I also noticed fewer guys in Geneva Bay each season and the ones that were there, were pushing off-shore further and further.  Why?  My observation was that many of the weeds were laying down in the bay due to zebra mussels.  Some of my favorite areas in the bay were no longer holding standing weeds....no standing weeds, very few fish.  Would love to hear your thoughts on this matter.  I will probably give Geneva another shot this winter as Delavan has its downside...too many anglers concentrated together.  Thanks jchunter.

I don't fish it as much as I used to. But if I put some time in I can get into some good pan fish. It does seem like less people are fishing in the places you mentioned and getting a limit has gotten harder than before. I plan on fishing it this winter some more and see how it goes. With the Zebra mussels and how clear the water is, it does make it harder to fish than other local lakes. But if you hit it right you can still have a great day of fishing.

The thing I don't like about this lake is how it takes so long to freeze. By the time it has good ice I usually am on good fishing on other lakes and don't really need to leave good fishing to find more fish. I like fishing some of the smaller lakes that get less pressure and still hold good fish. If I feel like fishing with a lot of people around and being more social I will hit up Delavan and some of the bays on Geneva. This year I'm able to be more mobile now that I have a snowmobile and hope to spend more time on Geneva in places many can't get out to.

blackhawks if you want to get together on the ice this winter send me a message sometime. I'm usually laid off a good part of winter and get out quit a bit.

Thanks jchunter.  Same goes here....if you want to hook up some time, shoot me a message.  I have an ATV for hardwater season so getting away from the crowds isn't a hassle.  Thanks again.
