For those of you that have crank down shacks. I just realized that one side of my shack does not go down to the ground. Its froze on the axle where it pivots. Been working on it most of the morning and still haven't got it off yet. What a pain in the butt. Make sure yours are OK.

Broke free for me on Monday using PB Blaster. Still doesn't go all the way down yet. Been trying to pull it off using a porta power jack with little success. BUTT it has moved about 1/4 inch. WOW, still need to do the other side

Try applying a little heat if you can do so without warping anything. Its amazing what a few passes of a torch can do.

been there-done that with little hand held torch. Maybe it didn't get hot enough. I have friday off and its suppose to be nice here in good old SD. I'll go to town on it then. Later boxcar

might have to use an oxy torch. Shouldnt have to worry about that for my shanty, have grease zerks whre it pivots on the frame.

Just thought I would let you all no that this shack had zerk's on the pivots too and it still froze up. Just make sure that when you grease them you lift the swivel up as high as you can to rotate the grease on the axle.
