Winnipeg Trip Pictures

We finally decided on Winnipeg for our trip. 10th largest lake in the world, natural large greenback walleye. When guides from Devils and Mille lacs want to catch big walleye, I guess this is where they go. We didnt get any 30 inchers, but we caught greenbacks everyday, and plenty of 5 to 6 lbers. Ice was 44 inches thick, and several days it was -30 to -40 with the windchills, and we fished everday thru it all. The last day we had to hire guide with a track truck to get us out on the lake because ther were 5 to 6 foot drifts. Next year I will be more prepared, tracked vehicles, sleds, thermal coverings on the huts. Cant wait for next year, its the real deal.

Looks like an awsome trip. wered you guyes stay? what did it cost you round trip per person. Ive been hitting the big mo alot this year but already planning for next year. Looks like auger extensions would be a good idea too.

We stayed in Selkirk, 20 mins from the lake, extensions are required, about 1 grand per person, that was with the guide for the last day, need sleds or tracks if you want to fish the good water.

Looked like a cold somb***h, but probably not as noticable when catching toads like that ! Great pics. I have a snowmobile or 2 you can use next year if you want.

I remember seeing that tracked truck out on the ice in March. Just curious what were his rates per day?
