klim bibs for ice fiahing, or better options?
« on: Nov 18, 2013, 08:17 PM »
I'm ready to ditch my dickies bibs that I have had for the last two seasons in favor of something waterproof, better fitting, and less bulky. I was looking at the Klim bibs because I'm fimilliar with their quality from when I snowmobiled a lot. But Im also wondering if i would be better off with some dedicated ice bibs? What are yall wearing to stay warm and dry that still allows you to move around easily?

You should look into the Striker Ice suits. I have the Hardwater Jacket and bibs and highly recommend them. Look them up online and  there's a lot of information posted right here on IS.

I looked at the striker ice suits, but I'm not a fan of the cargo pockets and the adjustable inseam on them, both look kinda clunky to me. I'm going to have to check out that second set posted, I haven't even herd of them and they look pretty nice

i just got the striker hardwater suit, bibs and jacket. the pockets and adjustable inseam are not bulky at all! i walk everwhere i go so i have been testing them by walking around for a hour or so and they are VERY comfortable to move in! waterproof, windproof, and insulated! the striker suits have been made for not just being in the cold weather but for being active in it. they move great and are not heavy at all! give them a call with your measurements and they will set you up good! there suits seem to be made by icefishermen FOR icefisherman!   tight lines...
boss spoons, they can catch it all!!!

Kurt's Island sports shop in your town is a Striker dealer. You could stop in and try a suit on if he has any in stock. Also Tadpoles sports in Eagle river and J&J sports in Lake Tomahawk are also dealers in your area according to Striker's web site. At least if you try one on you will have a better idea if you like them. Better than going off pictures if your unsure.
