A couple of ideas if you can't find your preferred bait. Try tip-up suckers (if you can find them). Outside the box - get the biggest shiners you can and use two - one facing each way so they work against each other to create more distress. I have not tried this - you can tell it's the end soon. We are all just about over the edge!! As the last resort - like stripers - catch your bait first - catch small locals from the same water and use them. Go dead - get the largest ocean smelt you can at the supermarket and wing it! Good Luck!!
