Next Year

With the rain yesterday and today along with temps in the 40's all week, it looks like our ice season may be over. This year was better ice wise than last year but not as good in years past. Here's hoping for a great softwater season and good ice earlier next year.  :icefish:

I had a great season but i very much doubt we can expect anything better then this year in the future. As a matter of fact we will be lucky to have a year like this again. I have lived in michigan for 32 years and the winters are nothing like they used to be and they keep getting warmer and shorter. I had a great season and what made it special was all the time i spent on the ice with my 8 year old son.

I'm afraid you're right.  I don't think the next generation of fishermen is going to be able to do much icefishing at all on the lakes in southern Michigan.  Enjoy the ice while we can.

Fished today. Ice was fine! Wet on top. Getting sloppy along shoreline. This weather could wreck what ice is out there though!

Stay on the trails you'll be fine...  ;D  Sorry I'm just really sad to see it go.  Wishing that it lasted a bit longer but alas the end is near.
