I'm guessing he probably uses a 10" auger.  That's a pike of a lifetime.

It was funny my battery salesman was telling me about his buddy's pike.  I showed him this pic and it was him.

I've driven over that place on the interstate before.  Isn't it just part of the Connecticut River or is a tributary that emties into it?

He could enter that fish for a Vermont Master Angler or annual state record I suppose since it's from Moore.  Hell of a fish!

That's a real good point since the water is NH controlled but much of it is in Vt.    In the past many of the 20 lb+ pike have come from the Vt. side.

I think anywhere on the border area of the CT could be an annual Vermont or New Hampshire state record or master angler pin.  I think the only thing that would prevent it would be if the person only held a license in one state and tried to submitt it for a pin, state record or Master Angler in the state he did not hold a license int.  So if this guy caught the pike on the Ct River and only had a New hampshire license, I would not expect him to be eligable for a Master Angler award or a Vermont State Record.  But yea, if this guy has a vermont and New Hampshire license, he could really run the tables.  Probably get some groupies and all!

Not implying that the current record came from this cove but the previous one did and many 20 pounders are caught there every winter ! :)
