Lowrance x67
« on: Jan 19, 2013, 11:30 AM »
Just made a switch from the marcum lx-5 to the lowrance x67 ice machine. Now I had no problems whatsoever with my marcum, but this lowrance is awesome. I would never go back to a flasher after using the graph. Just thought I'd share this for people looking for a flasher or graph!

Yooper 18, is there a bit more alphabet in the model?  Like  X67C ?    Is it in color ?

It has a flasher mode, which I don't like, it sorta spins my head and makes me dizzy, ha.     ;)2

Haha yes I know there is more alphabet I guess I'm just lazy!yes it is in color and I haven't even touched the flasher mode because I like the graph a lot more than the flasher on my lx-5! Good point! Forgot that it even had the flasher mode on it!

Yeh that was the first thing I did when I got it. Went out early that morning because I figured it would take me a bit to get used too. Had it set up within the first 5 minutes! I fished along side my marcum and put the lowrance on medium noise reduction and all interference was gone!

Also note that the X67c is no longer made & has been replaced by the upgraded Elite 4X.
A couple of the up grades are more power & dual frequency transducer.

never have problems with interference, until you get near a vex then you will have some problems

I just checked out eBay and I didn't see any real deals there.
I can get a new Elite 4x Ice Machine for just under $300.
No hassles with cross border shipping and duties.
Is a new (yes old stock) X67c worth nearly as much as a newer Elite 4x. Dual frequencies and far more power of the newer unit would swing me to it if I already didn't have a similar unit.( Humminbird Ice 345c)

Idaho, very good guess! Haha. All I use is the graph, didn't think I'd be big on it but I was wrong. Would not go back to the flasher or use it on my x67c. I should have maybe looked into the elite 4x but I got the x67c for $220 brand new so I couldn't pass it up.

Turn on the interference reduction and you'll be fine.

I've had my x67c for 4-5 years now. One of the best pieces of ice fishing gear I've bought.

The elite 4 is nice because you can fish graph/flasher mode on the same screen.  I think thats pretty slick.  I played with the elite 4 at bass pro and there are not as many options in the setting it seemed to me.  I couldnt find a ping or a scroll speed adjustment.  All and all though lowrance makes a awesome unit so Im sure it works great.

Had a x67c and a vex fl-18.  No matter what I did I couldn't get rid of the interference if they were close to each other.  It would black out the   whole screen almost completely on the lowrance.  I tried adjusting both machines to no avail. I couldn't stand when someone with a vex was near me.  :-\   I sold it and kept my vex. Problem solved. I did like the unit though.

When my wife goes fishing with me, she uses my old Vexilar FL-18 and it doesn't cause me any issues on my Lowrance when the interference reduction is set to low or medium.

Ping is available in manual mode. Not sure about scroll speed.  I have the Elite 4X with track back.
