Keep it dry...or..

If you are reeling in a lot, sometimes you have to melt it in your mouth..

The St. Croix spring dont freeze up cause the line dont go thru the spring.  Only the loop on the end the line goes thru, and sometimes ice's up just touch with your fingers and it falls off.  Have used these in below zero with very few problems!

I have used these for the past severasl years and they do freeze up but not as bad as the line thru ones. These are a great improvement over the others. I have used mine as low as -20 and the spring had got ice on it but nothing serious

The only thing that freezes is the loop where the line goes thru, if this helps.

If the spring freezes that quick you aren't pulling fish in fast enough!!

I make spring bobbers from guitar strings and they don't freeze just make the loop at the end bigger than normal..    it works great
