Hi guys and gals the lake for the NAIFC event is Belcourt Lake north of Belcourt on the Turtle Mountain Indian Reservation. You will need to perchase a non trible fishing license the cost is 25 dollars.

Hi idahofire there are a few places to stay you can stay at the Sky Dancer Casino west of belcourt that is the closest place to the lake and to town. the next town to stay in is Bottineau 30 miles west they have 3 hotels the super8, turtle mountain inn, the norway house. there is a bait shop north of bottineau about 12 miles they don't have to many things they have minnows and some times waxi's and spikes but if you are coming over on I94 you could get your bait in bismarck at scheels before you came north or if you come over on HWY2 you can stop in Minot at the scheels there and get bait. The ice is good we have anywhere from 24-30 inches the lakes are snow covered and it is hard to get around with vehicles and Quad's right now but that might change by the first weekend in march i would recommend a snowmachine but that is up to you. I order most of my bait off line from VADOS BAITS and have it shipped to the house over night.

GOOD LUCK FROM NAIFC TEAM #1077

Hi clmiller not sure on the size of the crappie seen them on underwater camera just going to guess about 12-13 inches maybe bigger but the gills in that lake have shoulders 8 1/2-10 1/2 inches. the lake covers 602 acres so you have to drill a lot of holes to find the fish but their there!!

the snow on the lake is really deep we have had a fair amount of snowin and blowin i would recommend a snowmobile or atv with tracks they might get around if they have chains but would not count on it. They also changed the species to 8 perch and 8 gills that will be fun.

The snow on the level is around 16-18 inches the DNR tried to make some trails two days ago but the just blew back in but even if they get roads plowed on the lake you still have to get off of them to find fish but the ice is a good 30 inches and the water is not stained it is clear so you can use a camera and see real well.
