It can be really good at times, very rarely do they come out over 10 pounds but lots of 26-30"

A lot big northerns come out of there than people talk about, the guys catching them are not telling everyone what they are catching on the Internet.

You would think a lot of small perch would lead to big pike but it's not the case in Elmore. I fish it a fair amount because it's easy for me to get to but I wouldn't  recommend driving too far to fish it. Much better options for pike elsewhere, in my opinion.

Boy,
You live in hartland and truck all the way up to Elmore?
That's a haul, there's some decent pike fishing down your way.

Yep, fished there today about 8-2 and hit a nice fat 10" perch on my first drop w/ a fathead. Dinks for the next 5 3/4 hours (and the gentlemen I sat with weren't having much luck on tip ups, though the 7 year old 20' away was crushing 'em.) thanks for the company and the dog time (and kielbasa) fellas.

I guess Ill have to try it and find out. Its to far to make a habit out of it. I know all about putting the time in though. You can fish hardcore all day all winter and then finally on the last week of season quit work early to fish for a couple hours and bamm! spool spinning wild and after a battle some freakish huge head shows itself in the hole. I love it
Come on get on the ice fish!!
