trout pics

I caught these at Rocky Gap. They made some real good fish cakes.

They give a lot better fight than perch or bass.

I caught 8 browns and 2 rainbows out of there this ice season. Browns are much harder to catch then rainbows. I wish they would stock some brookies on occasion.

Real nice one. They do not grow like that in these parts.

Nice trout pics guys.

As far as people not posting here...I never really understood that, but this year and last year have been tough finding good ice, so my guess is that's why.  In the past when most of the Western Maryland lakes had good ice all winter, we had some good conversations and reports on here.  A lot of us fish in PA too and post a lot there.

I don't have anything to report this year. The ice has not been consistant all year. It has been on the thin side and I'm not thrilled about the idea of taking the dunk.

Looks like a fun outing johnsaredneck. I've caught a few trout on tipups by chance through the ice but never jigged any up. My experience is that they suspend fairly high in the water column. Do you look for them in the shallows or over deeper water? It sure has been harder to find good ice the last few years. I hope we soon fall back into the winter patterns of 5+yrs ago.
