Well let's just use Phil's tail to make some jigs so we can use them on the ice I am definitely not ready to quit being on the ice yet. Just bought a new StrikeMaster gas auger last week and want to use it a few more times. Our local lake still has between 4 to 8 inches of good ice, pending where you are at. The forecast today on the 6pm news did show a slight warm up, but the nights are gonna be below freezing. I think we have a good 2 more weeks of ice around here
I sat comfortably on 10" of nice black ice on the big lake in the Poconos...walked 3/4 of a mile and found the same conditions everywhere I drilled
mike I was on the big lake last sunday and never touched 10 inches and walked 7 miles from truck door to truck door.most of it was of the black variety though
I walked about 3/4 mile south of Ironwood(Image removed from quote.)I should be back out there Tuesday looking for whatever took my trout head for a ride Friday
good luck with finding the one that took your trout for a ride. Off of shumans and martins the ice it not as thick as what your pic was. but then again there were guys fishing ironwood and sterling while the other end was open . Makes sence though. any pressure ridges down near ironwood? there a few up at the other end.
