Lake Fenton Moose Tournament

Ice on Fenton this morning was a bit weak at shorelines, 5" just offshore and 4" 100 yrds from open water on north end. Did not check the launch area. I popped 20 holes in the vented of lake area. Shantys still up on cranes cove,   As far as that being a hot spot...eh...?

I was out on cranes cove last Saturday because of the snowmobile drags and motorcycle races by the launch,(nothing like snowmobiles going by you at 120 mph..hmm and speed sigh says 45 mph on lake)anyway so i got out on cranes cove..caught 13 nice gills and 3 spec's . there were people in and near the shanty's fishing..and one guy wayyyyy out...I saw everyone catching something.. maybe i miss spoke about the *HOT* spot but it was way better there , than by the launch, even without the snowmobiles and bikes..

Nah, theres spots at both the south and north end, and a couple on the east side of the lake if you know where to look.

Drove all the way around the lake yesterday.  The boat launch has lots of good areas, and they were even further east then normal.  The south end has a couple of shantys as well.  Torrey road had a half of a dozen people as well.  Its a great spot, but county took parking away a few years ago on the side of the road.  Best bet is to park over at the elementary and walk down.  North end was open water.  Snowing right now here in Fenton pretty good.
