looking for something different - walleye or trout
« on: Feb 04, 2013, 11:37 PM »
I know this is asking alot but ive been chasing panfish and northerns for years, i just move onto Conesus lake and im looking to do something a little different. Id like to get after some walleyes or trout and im wondering if anybody has any advice on which lakes to hit and maybe some lure and bait tips. Ive heard honeoye has some trout and thats just a hop and a skip away. any help is greatly appreciated
thanks

Honeoye for walleye and canadice or hemlock for trout is where I would start. Both challenging fish to target.

Tread cautiously Canadice and Hemlock lakes both have a lot of springs ice varies quickly.  Never fish either without a spud or a friend. Especially this year.  Stay safe.

thanks for the headsup on the springs. i allways enjoy a challenge. any tackle and bait combos work well for trout? i tie my own jigs and flies so i have plenty of those

Hemlock is great for lakers always done well there.  Some jigs that I would use are large pimples, white tube jigs, and I have caught them on buck tails a few times as well.
