The world lost a great fisherman, and friend
« on: Jan 26, 2013, 08:55 PM »
Today the world lost a hell of a man, and a even better outdoorsman. Jim Hudson past away this afternoon from a tragic ice fishing accident on Lake Superior. He was a great guide, and always n made time to help an teach the kid's. He has taught the world so much about ice fishing, and truly help advanced ice fishing to what it is today. My prayers go out to his family and wife Hannah.

Also remember Jim was on the ice 6 to 7 days a week, 5 to 6 months out of the year. Superior has been experiencing record cold, so the point is no ones invincible ice is never truly safe.will fish again on the other side my friend. RIP

It was just off of Madeline Island. Out of respect I ran down to Pathfinder to use some of the tricks he taught me, an managed to ice 4 eye's over 4lbs, smiled as I let them go knowing there weren't any caught that big for the derby, but those were Jimmys fish.

Very sorry to hear the news. Prayers go to the family and loved ones. I can only imagine the fish he's dragging in right now. Be safe everyone

I think Jim was a friend to all, he has down so much for the world of fishing and ran a great guide service. Im willing to bet most of you have seen him on outdoor channel, or on Jason Mitchell Outdoors, or at one of the expos in the midwest.
