Do the flashers markum, vexlar, ect put off enough sonar waves to effect the fish?  Ive fished with guys who dont use one and catch plenty of fish, just wondering on different opinions.

Do they catch fish in regular spots or are they able to follow a school and stay on them when they move or do they fish dead holes untill they find the school. I don't dip a line until I find the school again.

I do know that if my kid gets too close to me with his vex-8 it will drive my x-64 nuts..I see flash pulses, all kinds of crazy stuff. He'll sneak up on me with the vex and watch me go crazy figuring what's going on..

I never use a marcum when I'm ice fishing for trout on lake michigan.  It spooks them.  Also I don't like a crowd of fishermen around me with their electronics on.

sometimes I think the fish have anechoic coating, like they are wrapped in tin foil or something.

They could be sending sonar, Iv'e had friends fishing without them and catch no fish. My catch increased 100% going to the vex20.I have more problems that affect fishing like spud bars to open old holes, new holes. I've had more problems with people littering and ending our fishing.

I have the m68c and I have had times when people with vex's/marcums fish right beside me with no interference and I have had times when they fish 50 ft away and I get interference.  Not a big deal as you can decifer the good from the bad.
Fisherman's Prayer
I pray that I may live to fish
          Until my dying day.
And when it comes to my last cast,
       I then most humbly pray:
When in the Lord's great landing net
           And peacefully asleep,
That in His mercy I be Judged
              BIG ENOUGH TO KEEP.

I've got an x-67 too and I've never had that problem. Fished right beside a couple different vex units, a hummingbird ice 55, and a marcum.

Never had an issue with any kind of flasher affecting fish.
You may call me crazy, but crazy catches fish!
