Favorite scent to put on plastics?
« on: Feb 20, 2012, 06:43 PM »
I'm making the switch over to plastics... been putting smelly jelly crawfish on my plastics, doesn't seem to hurt.  Might attract more trout in - which is not a good thing if you are targeting perch.

Saw a suggestion from "Swift" I believe... krill oil scent.  Forget the name but I've ordered some.   I've thought about trying gulp juice...

What kind of scents to you put on your plastics?  What is your favorite.

I just buy the gulp alive stuff and use that. I have a jar of the pink waxies and I always have that with me so I dunk all of my lures in there. When I run low I refill it from the bottle.

Its not made with fish oil anymore. Plus I would hate to see what a conservation officer would say when he saw you spraying your lure with WD40 and putting it down the hole.

I don't know how well it works under ice but I like to put 1TSP of cod liver oil in about 1/8 cup of salt and mix it up and put plastics in it. Works good in soft water. Going to try it on ice this year too.
Take your kids hunting and fishing and you won't have to hunt for your kids.
