We have 7-8 inches of ice in the back of Boardman Creek (Boardman Campground access), 5 inches to the east of Beeds Landing with presumably less towards the main lake. There is a strong bluegill bite in 14 to 20 FOW in the back of the boardman. You may have to do some sorting but should be able to catch limits of 8 inch gills with some crappies mixed in. East of Beeds there is a good crappie bite in 30-40 FOW but most crappie there are on the small side with occaisional crappies to 3/4 pound. Tear drops with waxies are producing 'gills. Small jigs and/or minnows will produce crappies. Reports of around 4 inches of ice in the Snake Arm although there is some variability. There are 3-4 inches of snow on the ice that is providing some insulation. I would consider any areas around the dam and main lake as unsafe. As always, drill your way out in any areas you are unsure of. Head to Merritt to take advantage of a good early ice bite!
