Anyone been over by Red Bridge today. Hoping last nights cold/calm locked her up. If so,may be able to get on by weekend with  the next four nights temps.

Just got back from the circle tour. Highway 13 bridge at Somerset - water open but with floating ice. Red Bridge west to the dam was iced over. At the marina I drilled 3 holes had almost 3 inches of ice close to shore. You have heard the story there are old ice fishermen and bold ice fishermen but no old and bold ice fishermen. No one was around so I didn't venture out into deep water to fish but if someone else was with me I think we would have been fishing. I was sitting on the docks and drilling holes where there was some ice yesterday but where there was only new ice it was really good but only 1 to 2 inches and when I drilled a hole water started up through the ice and it was cracking. So by tomorrow it might firm up and make some spots fishable. However I do want to file a grievance on the Army Corps. of Engineers as over the last 5 years they have made the ramp at Red Bridge not only steeper but also higher! I had to rest on my way back up the hill! Good luck and be safe!

Thanks for the info. That ramp is a fun one but that's why I'm glad I have a 4X4.
