Mixed usage fuel
« on: Dec 15, 2012, 12:29 PM »
List;
I have a can of good quality mixed fuel with stabil included. It was mixed this summer for my leaf blower. I don't want to put it in my auger or take it to the recycling center.    My question is could I put it in my pick up with a full tank of fuel?

When I was young I worked at a garage , a guy brought in 30 gallons of mixed gas from a boat he did not want it in all winter. I ran only that in my car {beat up 280zx} for a month. no problem.  As long as its clean and still smells like gas it will burn. I would be careful with brand new cars with sensitive sensors and catalytic converters.  A little in a full tank should be fine.

Just did it two days ago as I do every year. No problems at all.

Why not put it in the auger? Just use it up the first trip out. If your wondering about the fuel having a winter blend now, I don't think you could tell the difference. I have run summer gas in the winter and winter gas in the summer. I just won't through good gas away. I do use Marathon Gas with STP Additives already included. I also use Amsoil for my mix. I have used this gas from the same can for two years before I run out.

if it has stabil in it i dont see why it would bother your auger unless its got that stale smell to it
