Pa allows live bait and permits 5 devices.  They changed the terminology to "devices" to limit confusion.

I fish the western basin when the ice gets safe.  Does Cleveland area often get good ice?  I could see where some of the harbours might, as long as barges and or cutters aren't running, but I'm not familiar with what the main lake does on that end of the lake.

Hopefully the lake freezes this year. Last year the pond in my back yard didn't even make skim ice.we will definitely keep our fingers crossed. U might want to look at Oneida lake in new york good walleye and excellent perch fishing u are going to drive by it on your way here. Lots of good info on the lake on the new york thread. If u make it here this year be extra careful eire is the big leauges of ice fishing. I was out there 2 years ago and the ice was shoved up about 20 ft with chunks as big as your fridge. The people were i was at cut a hole in it were it was only about 6 ft tall. That was at 1.3 miles on my gps, the shanty town were everyone was fishing was at 6.2 miles. good luck ;D
