I was looking at the reg form. What are the qualifications to be classified as a PRO?

if you're sponsored by a fishing company, are a guide or have placed top 5 in a national (NAIFC) or regional (NEIT) derby or you just want to enter as a pro

I think all you need is cash and must be knowledgeable of the rules.

They should make similar rules as in the world championship. No electronics, no atv, only hand auger.

Captain Tim chose the lakes he did because they have a greater chance of freezing if we have anothe winter like last year.

Thanks for the conversation fellas! If this year kicks off on a great start (which it has come together HUGE already), we will definitely be looking to add Lake George to the line-up in future years. We just need to get a solid contact over there (like Fish307) to set things up for us and do the legwork that we can't from over here. We initially thought about not allowing any motorized transport, but got a cold response from our older (more experienced) anglers, and since we want numbers of anglers on the ice, we want the series to appeal to as many anglers as possible. If you don't have any electronics, might I suggest registering before or at our promo events coming up in December. ;-) More on that will be announced on our website December 1st!  @)  We'll also have quite a few to give away at the events as well! @) Keep checking the website for updates and I hope to see you all at the events this winter!! @)

This is the first year the series is running, so numbers of anglers will be TBD, and based on how many anglers want to help make this one of the largest tournament series in the country and who want to fish in tournaments for huge prizes. Right now we are planning everything (prize packages, door prizes, apparel, food options, etc.) based on 1000 total anglers. Ideally we would like to see 250 or more Pro teams, 250+ Am teams, and 1000 Open anglers. This would allow us to verify and award packages of $10k to the top Pro team, $5k to the top Am team, and $1000 to the top angler in each species division in the Open, plus all the door prizes, give aways, and both quads.  @)

If you register for the Am or Pro divisions, we are requiring you to attend the captains meeting so we can inform you of necessary precautions on the waterway, go over how the shotgun start will proceed, go over the rules and answer any questions/concerns that have not already been addressed, and most importantly hand out the information and giveaway packs to all the teams. If we wait until the morning of the tournament, it'll simply take too long to get all the teams through, plus register all the last minute Open anglers, and there would be no way to inform all the teams of the information necessary to run this type of event. We highly suggest teams in the Am and Pro divisions plan on coming in either Thursday night or Friday morning, getting situated in their hotel/motel, maybe do some scouting pre-fishing, and attend the captains meeting.  @)
