« on: Nov 16, 2012, 09:31 AM »
Hey guys, I just got a new iphone and am looking for the best gps app. I live and fish in Saskatchewan. I want the app for fishing only. I have a garmin gps in my truck. I want to mark hot spots on the ice or water. Any info will great, thanks.

http://news.motionx.com/category/motionx-gps/  This one works great, and costs almost nothing.

Try topographic maps Canada.  Free app.  Download the maps you need.  1 to 50 topo maps.  Works even without cell signal.  Sorry I don't have the link now, pretty sure it is on the Ap store.  Good luck.

I have the Navionics app on my Iphone 4 very nice app, it has the most popular lakes on it and most of those come with a depth chart!. i would recommend it worth the 20 bucks imo

I'm using the Navionics app as well there are a few missing lakes on it but the gps will get you within 10ft of your spot I found.

I am curious to know if the Navionics app uses cellular data, or if it runs of the internal GPS?
A bad day of fishing is better than a good day at work.

It runs of the GPS, it will work just fine with no service.
