Best bibs for ice fishing
« on: Oct 15, 2012, 08:07 AM »
I am looking to get a new set of bibs for ice fishing this year.  I  have Carhartt Extreme bibs but kneeling and jigging next to holes all day they soak up water and freeze.  Im looking for an insulated pair that is also rugged and waterproof.  Any suggestions?

Frabill, ice armor, and striker are all excellent choices. They all work well, buy whichever you like the looks of best.

Skip, you might try knee pads and snow gators, both work for me and cheaper than buying a new bib. I picked my gators and knee pads up at a garage sale and thrift store, think I have $5.00 invested in the two.

Artic Armor.
Try it, it's warm, lite, and from what I've seen is waterPROOF

I've used uninsulated Cabelas Guidewear bibs for quite a few years.  They can be layered under and are good during the softwater season too.  I'd buy them again.  During frigid and dry conditons, I use my old insulated Carharts as well.

If you get the striker ice, or artic armor, you will also get the benefits of flotation.  Well worth the money.
