Help with a home made sled build
« on: Sep 09, 2012, 12:28 PM »
Hi everyone.

Last winter my ladys father took me ice fishing for the 1st time.

And I'll be honest.  Growing up I used to fresh water fish and love'd it.  Bought my 1st boat this year.
But I always wondered why people would like to ice fish.  sitting on ice outside when its cold staring @ a little hole waiting for a fish.  Sounded terrible.
Then we went.
I loved it.

So @ the end of the season I started to aquire the neceassry equipment for a beginer.
*** I don't have a truck, SUV, ATV, or snowmobile.  I just have  alittl 4 door 98 Hona Accord

So everything I take out needs to be pulled out on a sled.
Well I wasn't about to buy a plastic sled for $50.  So I got a $5 kids one.  Held stuff but tipped over was to narrow....

Long story short.  Thats what brings me here...

I thought about making my own personal pull behind sled.
1.  To save $ vs commercial name.
2.I can make it to largest dimmensions I need for my car.

So I did a few google searches and found this site.  Wow there are a lot of homeade sleds and ideas for sleds here.  After finding 1 post that was over 19 pages long about "post your homeade sled" I knew this was the place for me to get ideas, inspirations, suggestions etc...

So guys here I am.
