A few burbs and whites. (pic heavy)
« on: Apr 03, 2012, 09:05 PM »
Lots of fish caught and released. Ended with around 70 whites and i'd say 50 burbs. Of the 70 whites I caught most all of them (2) while akhardwater schooled me. He also caught most of the burbs...

Hardwaters home away from home for 7 days. He's nuts

Boy I'll tell you that was one awesome trip.  I think I had more fun trying not to catch fish.  It got to the point were I could lure the burbs up in my hole and then grab them with my bare hands.  It was allot harder than it sounds.  Out of the dozens of fish I was able to coax up into the hole I only managed to hold onto 3.  My little dog thought I was the man.  He got his turn to catch a fish to, he actually caught one out of our live well.  I called it bobbing for burbots and it was absolutely hilarious.  O and ice fishing in shorts and flip flops is even more fun than it looks.  I got there on Sun. and didn't put my socks and shoes back on till Thurs. when I had to run into the lodge for more propane.  Man I love Alaska.
I was born an Alaskan I just didn't live here at the time.

Nice pictures!  My dog stood over the hole and watched the burbot come in and tried to look under the ice as they moved out of sight.  Glad to here you nailed them and had a blast doing it :)
