Tiger Musky on the ice!!!
« on: Feb 23, 2005, 08:25 AM »
I have heard about and actually seen people putting these Tiger Musky on the ice but i don't know how to go about it. Would you fish them like you would pike or is there another way?

yep I fish for them the same way I do for pike, same leaders and same bait basicly.    I saw that you live in Auburn their should be some lakes near you that have been stocked with Tigers, I know Otisco lake has them, some large ones too.
It doesn't matter if you didn't catch anything as long as you had fun.

You better have a lot of line on your spools, because they like to run. I have heard of them running 300+ feet on their first run :o

Have yet to catch one bigger than about 15" but fish for them the same as you would for their parents, pike and pure strain musky. As long as you are relativerly close by your tip-ups the amount of line shouldn't be too much of a factor but I'd suggest filling them up to the edge of the spool if you're using tip-ups with smaller spools.

Totally off subject, but what kinda trike is that you're riding, laketroutmaster?  I might have to challenge you to a dual w/ my 350x!

Always wear clean underwear, cuz ya never know when the paramedics are gonna have to cut your pants off.
