This was a tough year. I can't really complain, I got out quite abit. I think we learned this year that we have to scout other ponds when we have a good ice season. Lets face it, there was alot of "If (insert big name Lake) doesn't have ice then nowhere does or it's not worth the trip" The guys who hit the ponds off the beaten path had a great season, who can complain about fishing 4"-6"+ ice in 50 degree temps.
Sometimes it feels like I live in a Pat McManus story!

Good point fishville, the year was as tough or as easy as you wanted to make it.  I am still not done and also can't complain.  I hope to have some nice pictures from nh saturday.

(Image removed from quote.) This place is not like it use to be. Later shanty \m/

Tread lightly Grasshopper. If we can forgive a young stranger who crashed our party on ice years ago and then invite him to join us whenever he sees us out there, I think you can let this one go. Whatever "this one" really is. Doesn't sound like anything to me.

Pay heed to the DirectTV commercial:
“When you can't ice fish, you say things. When you say things, people think you have anger issues. When people think you have anger issues, your schedule clears up. When your schedule clears up you grow a scraggly beard. When you grow a scraggly beard you start taking in stray animals. And when you start taking in stray animals you can’t stop taking in stray animals. Stop taking in stray animals.” ;)

Frank, he's thinking of digging a 2'nd koi pond just for them, and run it inline with the current one. Filtration won't be an issue, and if the bait pond is deep enough, temps shouldn't be either. That corner of the yard has good shade in the summer.

Good deal bud. We're holding you to your word.  ;D

I'm gonna break the rules and post an open water report or 2 before going quiet. Spring ain't for 3 weeks. I encourage others to break the rules too.

I was on CWood yesterday Bri...by boat of course. I can't see me hitting the ice again without a serious cold spell. Too busy with family and work to go out of state when I can drop a boat in minutes from my house.

Ice fishing is great but as long as I'm fishing I'm good.  :)

Boat on CWood? That doesn't fare well for the ice outing Chris has planned for Sunday. ;)
