All the time.  Its the pikes primary forage on many bodies of water.

I have better luck with gills and crappie. I think it's because the perch seem to have more pronounced dorsal spikes.

we use perch all the time for pickerel, trout work good for muski's,and I think its because of the lack of pointy fins on them makes them easy to swallow

never had luck on them, ran them fairly often both dinks and dead ones with some heft.  rarely had luck on anything though so probably not a good reference point.  i think it is a confidence thing but to me it needs to be soft finned looking, round goldens and fallfish/dace.
if the trout are lost, smash the state.

When ever we catch a load of pirch we cut the eyes out when were cleaning them. Store them in a old pill bottle, fill it up with water then into the fridge. Next time we go fishing thats our bate, it works like a charm every time.

I froze the eyes then the day before I went out, put them in the fridge.... They were ready to go!
