Little one tend to school, while the biggers ones tend to be loners.

I've found that they school according to size. Thats not to say that they all school! This past weekend we were picking off loners.

Seems to me that the smaller ones scholl up. All of the jumbos i have caught have been loners.

That is interesting never really thought about it.... but I think it holds true. I'll catch a 10" (big for my lake) and then nothing for awhile. Might catch another 10" or two... but then seems like schools of dinks (3") will swim through too.

I think a lot of it depends on the lake. All lakes are different. Ive seen them school up in lakes as where other lakes they are all loners.

Good point, it really does depend on the water and conditions.
I think if there are weeds they will tend to gravitate toward them... if there are no weeds, they might spread out more.

I think sometimes big ones school too. I have had some pretty fast action on good fish that indicates that they are not always loners.
