Great Day at the Cove

Had a fantastic day today. Another fine weather day no gloves almost all day. The flags were flying right from the start and remained fairly steady through out the day. On the ice at 7:15am off the ice at 5:15pm. Met StriperNut and Baitbucket out there. Nice to meet fellow Shanty memebers. Saw a couple eagles. Even tried jigging with these little orange shiners I got at Flags on the way out. They worked the perch loved the and Frank even jigged up a couple Pickerel and a Bass with them. I never saw them before but had to try them. First time fishing the Cove. No Pike but alot of nice Bass and Pickerel. Next Saturday sounds good to go there again for sure. Here's how the day started

team ice shanty! i beeped this afternoon when i drove by, had just finished the kids derby @ ashfield pond. plan on fishing the cove next saturday for the first time!

Nice bass ! Looks like you were in the exact spot I was in on Thursday  I'm thinking Monday for a go at a darn bass or another pike ! Although the big Pickerel are nice as well !

looks like you got a flag up in the first pic lol nice fish. well today i went out to find a diffrent spot to fish what a mistake went to 2 ponds and both were wide open back to the spot i was on yesterday that had 6-8" tommarow

i used to fish the cove alot,,,but a few years back,,some,russians stole some of my tips ups, also tried to attack my 70 year old fishing partner,,and they were ragbagging everything, dont think any one of them had a a licence, nor could they even read english. After that i stopped going there, but would love to go back and jigg off the wall for those slab calicos, and put out some pike tip us.

If russians did that to one of my fishing partners they would probably meet the business end of a spud bar quickly.

they were waiting for him when he came off the ice  we could not bare to watch them keep undersized bass,,,,,i came up the hill with,,with my trusty chisel in one hand,,and they got in thier cars and left. They were even stealing our holes when we drilled.

I drove by too around 3 ish but had to be home for valentines dinner tonight. Woulda stopped to check you guys out. Never stepped foot on the cove but it looks like a good spot.
