Soon... Very soon
« on: Feb 11, 2012, 08:08 AM »
With the lack of ice fishing business here at the shop, I find myself day dreaming about the next species we will target. Can't wait to make some more videos like this one.  ;D

all i know is that fly fishing for native brownies has been excellent this year with the above avergae temps....
Fishing is a sport in which thinking is involved it is the covenant between nature and man, mother and son. Through fishing only can we recreate the link that has been tarnished throughout the existence of the modern era of mankind. Fishing is the answer yet people ignore it and consider it a "stupid" thing to do. What do these people do instead? They stare in front of color changing boxes. Is that life? My life is fishin

Hey Blaine,
With the warmer temps this year, when do you predict the striper run will begin on the CTR?  I would imagine it would be sooner than May, no?

Why wait for the run, there are plenty of holdovers to chase.  Norwhich area or Derby Dam.

The lack of snow may have a negative effect on a run even with the warm temps. This could be a perplexing spring following a crappy winter. Just great. :(

Lack of snow is going to make the start of striper season awesome for me.  No wprries about river flooding, junk and the water temps will warm quicker so subsequently the herring will be on the move sooner than later.

With little to no snow up north (yet), the run should start early. The down side is that if the temps rise too quickly, the run will end early as well... Really looking forward to May and June!

I have been hitting the hold overs in the housey until a couple weeks ago with some pretty good sizes, its not the mighty ctr, thats for sure.  UNLESS ITS LIKE LAST YEAR WHERE ALL OF MY GOOD SIZED FISH CAME OUT OF THE HOUSEY DUE THE CHOCOLATE MILK THAT WAS FLOWING DOWN CTR.  Nothing like the CT when its on.

norwich stripers have been real slow. Numbers are way down. Caught 5 the last 2 trips. Was catching more thru the ice. Better than sitting home tho. gl and be safe. :%$#!:
