how thick is the ice on champlain. I have not been there this year would like to get out, but not sure the ice is safe.

is south bay cosidered to be part of lake champlain? and can you use the fifteen tipups on south bay? im not sure so id thought to ask you fellas. ive never fished it before and im planning on going next weekend so any advice would be greatly appreciated. Im not looking for your hotspot just a general direction as to where to start. pike and pannies are the goal thanks

Yes and Yes. Go out from the boat launch just don't try to go under the bridge.

I can't believe some of the die hards that drill and icefish right next to the open water under that bridge. Just watching them was making me nervous.

I fished it sat and Monday..south of the camp ground 7 inches.open water in a few places towrds the campgroundvbut have seen a number of fishermen over there.

I fished it on Tuesday,there was a sold 4' of ice where we went on off the beach,to the right of the beach towards the middle there was open water.there was a 30+ MPH wind there yesterday and temps around 30*,I don't think it will last long.

Drove bridge today a lot of open water on both sides . Seen no one out there . Be safe

its not worth the trip i was there today the only good access is off cr7 to south bay rd.....

i was told dec was kicking people off the bay yesterday because of unsafe conditions . dont know if its true or not but the guy i spoke with said they couldnt fish
