Open water near Camp Capernum on Buffalo

Warning is being issued

A warning has also been issued for people that use Buffalo Pound on a regular basis.
The Moose Jaw Wildlife Federation is reporting some open water on the lake and thin ice in the area, half a mile east of Camp Capurnum. The open water is said to be about 50 yards from the shore. There is also some open water and thin ice near the Highway 2 Causeway.
The local group is warning people out fishing and sledding that the areas are very dangerous right now.

Took this off Discover Moose Jaw.

Pretty scary as I was in this location last Sat. and Sun. and my 5 year boy was with me.

Hi Quinn,
We had members reporting that a spring was bubbling through the ice at that location.  I have been told that they have since marked the location so that it is visible to passers by.
