I have seen both of these for sale a few times at $200 and wondered if anyone had an experience with both of them.   I am interested in something that I can wear during the winter as well as early and late in the open water as well.  Given a choice, I am a little more concerned about being able to extend my boating season than fish in zero degrees.  I have a nice shelter and a heater already.  I gather the Frabill outfit is slight less insulated, but not sure.

I have had the clam blue suit for several years. Best investment I've made in ice clothing. Check ebay and google it. There are some good deals out there right now. They also have different colors and even camo! Can't vouch for any other brand.

My cousin has the grey. Said he missed the zipper the first time out. Also, the gray I believe is warmer than the blue suit.

I have the grey Ice Armor suit and it rocks. It is a little to warm i believe for here in Indiana. For me at least. I am looking at buying the blue one. They are so comfortable.

I have the Ice Armor camo suit (same as the blue one only camo so I can be super stylish @)) and I love it.

I barely ever fished outside my shack, now I do it all the time. It truly is like wearing your shack! At first I thought it was all hype, but I am sold. The IA suit stops the wind completely, this makes a huge difference over carhart work clothes and such. It seems too light to keep you warm, but it really does. There are enough great big pockets to fit your whole tackle box in. This is the fourth best purchase I have made, after my flasher, Voyager, and 2up dedicated ice fishing snowmobile.

Embarassed to share this recent experience, but here it goes.  I own a Frabill FXE grey suit.  A few days ago while putting the boat into the water, I fell in about 3fow 38 degree water temp.  3/4 submerged I thought my trip was done. The suit kept the water off of me.  I felt some dampness. but my own body heat evaporated the dampness in no time.

As far as Ice Armour, I witnessed a guy who had fallen thru the ice and was in the water for 25 minutes wearing an Ice Armour suit.  His body core temperature was normal when DNR arrived and pulled him out.

In my opinion, both suits do the job well, it is a matter of how much you want to spend.
And in the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make. Abbey Road

I'm with IceFlagger on this one.  Was gonna write a review on it but then found this thread...so here goes....

Not that I'll get to use the thing this pathetic winter, but I was in the market recently for a snowmobile/snow blowing/ice fishing outfit that was wind/water proof....and warm.  I had my eye on the Pro Qualifier suit at Bass Pro, but didn't want to pay full price...which would have been right around $400.  Seemed to be made well, and had the reinforced knees etc...

I'm glad BPS didn't put them on sale....
Was looking around at another store and stumbled across the Frabill Icesuit (black one) and loved it!  So, I hopped on the internet to find my size and placed an order.  Just got the jacket/bib combo in the mail yesterday and I have to say, it's awesome.  Very well made, heavy suit with insulation...I bet the suit alone probably weighs between 5-7lbs, but doesn't feel like extra weight when you put it on.  Also has reflective piping/trim for safety during the night hours and about 27 different zipper/velcro pockets for jigs, cell phone etc.

Best part?....the suit retails for $400, but found it on BoatersWorld.com for $273!...NO tax, FREE shipping.  It came to my house in 2 days!  If anyone is intereste, here's the link...

http://www.boatersworld.com/product/MP119863634msk.htm

I go about 6'2", 190 lbs and the Xtra Large size is just about perfect.

At that price, I would highly recommend this suit to anyone!

1st year for me in the blue ice armor suit. Nice suit if it's very cold out i put on a heavy flannel but that all i need. I think the grey ice might be to warm for me if i was moving around alot.

I bought the frabil suit last winter and like many have said the shanty started staying home.  The biggest problem I had was finding one that fit me right since I'm 6'6".
A bad day of fishing is better than a good day at work
