Took my older daughter icefishing on Cheshire Lake (the northern 3rd of 1st Lake) today.
While we were setting up, a yellow Piper Club type plan landed on the ice and then took off again. It was a gutsy move because there was only about 6 inches of ice where we were, although there was closer to 10 not too far to the north of us. (There was also some open water along certain spots along the eastern shore, where the drain pipes come ine).
Fishing was so, so. My daughter landed a nice chunky pickerel on a tipup and I caught a 12" perch. Other than that, we each caught a couple of undersized pickerel.
The grub was good (porkchops) and the ice was perfect for skating. Fortunately, I brought my skates and took the opportunity to skate down to the islands and back.
