How do you get here would be coming from Hamlin Corners (rts 590 and 191) or the Casey Highway by Carbondale.

Thanks for the info chez and hope your son gets better soon.  I got stuck working over time so not sure if I'll be able to get out, really hoping I do since it maybe the last time we get to this season.  Hoping the ice holds up for next weekend if I can't get out on Sunday.  PM me if you're going to go out Sunday or next weekend.  Thanks again.

Maybe they shoul advertise a little better if they want guys to show up.  that is the third tourney that i have herd about through here that was local and never seen anything about it listed anywhere.

Never mind about the last post  I just saw in your other thread about getting out one lat time that it was the guys having the derby that was ridiculously priced.  Isn't it over a 100.00 to get in to it.  I think that coupled with the general lack of ice in the northeast is the reason for the lack of participation.

dont know much about the derby price jiggerman.i dont think these guys that were having the derby visit this site.they had the big derby ther around 3 weeks ago. they use to sell tickets all year for that derby.i think it was called the andys derby.met a guy at belmont when we aere getting on around 1.30 told my son that no one paid ther money in for the derby? so thats why it didnt happen.i dont fish the derbys.my job intales me to work sat.mornings.i agree the should advertise these derbys, even on this site they would have a big turn out.

I dont think they can advertise their derby on here unless it benefits some sort of good cause.  I was more refering to advertising in local tackle shops or stores, firehalls and that sort of thing.  I was just surprised that this was the first year i heard of these derbys.

ANy ways stay safe if you go out past this weekend.  I think it s supposed to get really warm late in the week close to 60 wed, thur, fri.

it would be nice if they did advertise.these guys are in between wb and scranton.they might advertise down that way.i dont know where you are from but,we dont have many bait shops down our way.im in pittston twp.the nearest bait shop is in wyoming we go 7 miles each way to get bait out of our way if we head to wayne county. it stinks.good news is the owners daughter is going to open a second shop on lonesome rd. moosic this year.at least that is on our way.hopefully we get a better ice season THIS YEAR.and some sunday derbys so i can fish.they canceled the francis slocum derby ,gouldsboro derby ,and the toby derby i think?bad ice. i use to fish 1 at shahola but didnt in years. it was a nice durby.big turnout always.when rays bait was open in dupont it was great.they always advertised the derbys and goingons but, time changes usually for the worst.o well good luck fishing out there.

I was there on the fourth with ice around 9 1/2 near the ramp increasing up to 11 3/4  the more I walked north.  Between the three of us we caught a bucket full of decent perch, several small bass, several small pickerel, and one calico.  We stayed out all day and had to move around a bit.  We were last to leave for the night.  Gonna try this weekend if the ice survives.
