It seems to me that Fishing has been very poor this year for most fisherman,everyone I have talked too say's its been very slow for them.I have only been out twice and Skunked once so far.I know twice isn't any indication of how well fishing is but it ,Must be the Weird wheather we have been having and the late ice,Just wondering if anyone seems to think the same thing is all?.

I've done alright, not great.  Then again I am trying many different lakes this year then I have in the past, so that might be a good reason why my numbers are lower than usual.

Ive done pretty good so far. Starting from may 2011 I have not been skunked on any of my outings so far so I cannot complain.

It’s been pretty good for me!  If [ I ]was having that problem, I’d have ta call it operator error.....but that’s just me. HAve ya tried jigging?

The last 2 years all i do is jig mostly,i put out a couple of traps but i like too jig now,I must be getting old..

It's been my worst year by far. Talking with others they've had similar success. The only guys doing real good are up in the northern part of the state.

I guess it also depends on what you're targeting. 

I rarely target trout and salmon, although I'll setup a couple of tipups for them if I know they're in the water I'm fishing.  I've caught one brookie this year (my first through the ice), a pile of nice largemouths (including my PB), bunch of perch, a crappie (also my first), a few small pickerel, and a half dozen pike, most of which were four or five pounds, and one 10.39 (also a PB).

I've definitely been out a lot less this year so far but my fishing has been pretty bad. I'm hoping things swing around in February and March.

my first day out i hammered the stocked fish out of the ponds, ever since then i've been fishing a very slow local lake and gotten skunked every time except once ( got me a bass) it will look up, its us not the fish.

I feel fishing has been slow for trout. By this time last year I had already caught a large number of browns. This year I have yet to catch one. how ever I have caught a bunch of brookies.

Its been really slow for yellow perch for me this year,  My perch honey hole has only produced brook trout.

Fishing has been average for me so far.  I've covered a lot of ground fishing from my hometown of Litchfield,  well into Western Maine and now fishing the extreme reaches of Northern Maine back at school.  Landed fish on every trip out so far managed a new PB 7 pound Brown,  caught at least 2 of every cold water game fish in the state expect white fish and blue back.  I will say I haven't had any banner days as far as numbers go but its been steady.  Still 2 months left!

Fishing this year has been pretty good for me.  Except for yesterday, I got skunked...BUT that wasn't entirely unexpected, as I was only targeting very large splake in a pond that doesn't have very many of them.  Didn't even mark a fish on the flasher, except for smelts.

I have had a couple of mediocre days, but I have jigged up some of the first (wild) brook trout that I have fished for through the ice, hammered crappies with very little effort, landed many salmon, and caught a few absolutely massive yellow perch.  Now I want to switch gears a little bit and start targeting togue, cusk, whitefish, and maybe some pike for the remainder of the winter.

Ive been fishing the hardwater for years, and I think this year thus far has been one my most productive.  Just gotta put the time in.

You might be getting old, but I think your just trying to be careful out there and not hurt yourself again this year. lol

So far in the oxford hills area most of the time we go out someone in our crew lands a real nice quality fish. whether it is cold or warm water species. Only one trip to Norway lake I was skunked.

its been kinda slow this year for me myself. i did make a new pb pike this year tho, so i've had a great season i love being out on the ice evan if I'm not catching fish.
