Battery Problems Need Some Help
« on: Feb 12, 2012, 08:39 PM »
Alright so I bought an extra battery from cabelas to run my lights and aerator in my shanty.  It worked great when I first bought it but tonight it started running really dogged down.  My humminbird has a built in battery tester so I plugged it in and it read 75% but the winding sound that the flasher usually makes was much quieter with the cabelas battery, almost as if it wasn't getting enough power.  I've only had to charge it once or twice since I've gotten it.  I used one of my other chargers from either my flasher or my underwater camera (can't remember which one).  I did notice that ah (ampere-hour) for each of the batteries is different.  Could this cause any problem??

Humminbird flasher = 12v 7.2ah ( came with a charger)
Cabelas underwater camera = 12v 9.0ah ( came with a charger)
Cabelas rechargeable battery = 12v 8.0ah ( did not come with a charger)

The charger will indeed work with any of the batteries. You should though, charge your batteries after every use. Let them come to room temp and put the charger on them until fully charged.

Agreed...what he said.  Don't overcharge, but charge after every use.
