Lubricating Polar Tip-Ups

I have several Polar Tip-Ups and most work just fine, the spools spin freely.  One, however, a 500 foot model, seems to need lubrication.  The spool will only make two or three revolutions when spun.   Has anyone else had this problem and, if so, were you able to do anything about it?  Seems like I remember seeing something somewhere that could be used to lubricate them, but I can't find it now.  Any suggestions out there?

Never mind!!!  I was just told by a wiser fisherman than myself that I might try loosening the hex nut on the top of the shaft and that solved my problem.  Thanks anyway!!!

If that doesn't work polar sells a product called blue lube that should do the trick. I have seen it at most tackle shops.

i have a friend that had this problem and he used white lithium grease to get by in a pinch if the blue lube was not available.

If a Blue Lube supplier is not easily available, are there any other Wal-Mart or Sears (for example) lubes that could be used? (Yes I know I could go on-line, but shipping would = the cost of the lube) . . .
