bait shop??Kank./YellowRiv. area

can anyone tell me if there is a bait shop near the public access site where the yellow and the kankakee river meet there in english lake area?? im coming from south crown point and usually just take route 8 all the way down....dont want to have to drive 25mins north to get bait then head back south....any info would be appreciated......Thank s

there was one right there at the bridge but not sure if still open or not...don

There is one about a mile west of there on the road south of the river.  Never been in it, just passed it on the way there.

I've been to the bait shop in that area and it's a great shop. From the DNR Access site at English Lake, go south about 1 mile, then turn west and go about a mile. It's on the same road that goes in front of the Kankakee Wildlife Offices west of Rt. 39. I'm not sure what the number of that road it. There are signs on the telephone poles. It's at a couple's home and they have a sign out front. Hope this helps!

Not sure but thought it was greenwoods or something similar. Very nice people and clean shop too.
